Metriks Licensing

License Requests:

Licenses for Metriks are currently freely available to licensed (academic and commercial) users of at least one GHBMC model. A license key can be requested from Elemance using any of the following methods:

1)      Request a license key when completing an initial GHBMC license agreement.

2)      Request a license key through the Elemance support page.

3)      Request a license key through direct email to [email protected].

4)      Within Metriks, select “License”→”Request License” from the top menu bar to be automatically redirected to the support page and open an email template to [email protected].

License Data:

Upon approval for a Metriks license, the user will receive a text file similar to the screen clipping below, containing a license key and a machine activation token. The key and token can be very long strings of text and may wrap across more than one line in the text file. One license key and machine activation token are generated per GHBMC licensing organization. This key and activation token are used to connect to a license server that validates the user’s license at Metriks startup. The default maximum number of machine activations per Metriks license is 15, but if your organization needs additional seats, please contact [email protected]. Each time the machine activation token is added loaded into a Metriks license, a license seat is filled on the Metriks license server. Machines can also be deactivated (see Machine Deactivation section below).

License Activation Instructions:

Please follow the ordered instructions to load your license key and machine activation token.

1)      Paste the license key into the first text box.

2)      Press the “Save” button. This saves the license key to Metriks’s cache.

3)      Paste the activation token in the second text box. Make sure you copy the entire activation token, including the prefix “acti-“

4)      Press the “Activate” button. This authorizes your machine ID to be valid with the provided license key.

5)    Press “OK” once license and machine are activated.

Machine Deactivation:

After activating a license and machine with the provided key and token, individual machines on a license can be deactivated. To deactivate a machine that has already been activated, go to the “License”→”Activate License” selection from the top menu bar. This will open the license settings window where the user can choose to “Deactivate” the machine activation token if it is being stored in the cache.

Licenses and Newly Installed Versions: 

New versions of Metriks are released periodically and may require an uninstall of the previous version before installing the new version. Before uninstalling the outdated version, no actions need to be performed related to removing the license information. However, when the new version is installed, the license key will need to be activated for the new software version. The machine activation token will likely NOT need to be applied in the new installation. As shown in the screen capture below, a message will indicate that the machine has already been activated for the license after hitting the “Save” button for the license key.
